About
We’re on a quest to inspire and ignite the imagination of future aeronautical engineers here in the Golden State. We want to inspire them to bring their own children to these fascinating museums.
For me, the love of aviation started with a book that belonged to my dad. He worked at Douglas during WWII, quality controlling the liferaft ejector system on the B-26 Marauder. It was printed on flimsy 11×17 wartime newsprint, battered and with dog-eared pages, but it was filled with striking black-and-white images of literally every aircraft that flew during World War II. I thought that book was absolutely breathtaking.
Paying a visit to California’s fantastic air museums may provide that same level of enchantment to the next writer, the next aviation engineer sitting at home right now.
While you can find some interesting stories about the historical airframes we uncover on our site, their stories are better told by the museums themselves.
That’s why our goal is to be a resource for potential visitors, introducing and highlighting each museum itself, and simplifying what can seem like the daunting task of figuring out what each museum offers.
I hope you enjoy your visit here to California Air Museums and that you’ll be encouraged to go and visit these fascinating places for yourself. I personally guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Thank you for taking a moment to visit California Air Museums.
